Our Story Starts With
La Calçotada
La Calcotada brought juicy calçots and laugher to the tables of hundreds, this inspired us, founders Louisa and Julia, to explore food as a social entrepreneurial endeavour.
We are a Dutch-Catalan couple, a medical doctor and a research engineer, based in Eindhoven. We combine our intercultural background, strong sense of community and passion for food to drive new entrepreneurial ventures.
Now, we open our company to the public and we invite you, to also be part of this journey and contribute to the future of sustainable food systems.

What is the minimum I can invest?
The minimum quantity is approximately 10€. We want to make sure being part of the project is as accessible as possible.

You must be over 18 years old and legally entitled to invest.
Why equity crowdfunding?
We have had an incredible journey over the past few years, which has allowed us to create a unique food experience rooted in traditions. By introducing La Calçotada to thousands, we’ve built a community that values heritage and quality. To scale and extend our mission of creating a sustainable future, we’re launching this round of equity crowdfunding. It helps us bring in additional resources to: - Expand our footprint across Europe, - Innovate with new sustainable food technologies, - Continue our journey to becoming a net-positive food company, - Develop a stronger community of supporters who share our vision.

It is not a donation, it is an investment. Equity crowdfunding allows a large number of people to pool their money together to support a business they believe in, through an online and regulated platform.

What does a convertible note mean?
A convertible is an investment for equity in the company where shares will be issued at a future date. Typically, the shares will be issued once we complete a larger investment round.
Why a convertible note?
A convertible note allows us to raise equity finance without setting a valuation at this point. The valuation will be set during the next investment round or at an agreed date. This approach is part of our wider funding strategy.
When will they become shares?
The invested funds will be converted into shares when we close our next financing round. The crowdfunding platform will handle the process, and you will receive an email once your shares are issued.
Which benefits do I have as an investor with a convertible note?
By investing in a convertible round, you are entering early, and your shares will be at a discount compared to future rounds. This gives you a stronger position in terms of share value and offers interest on your investment when the shares are issued.
What protections do I have as an investor?
The terms of the convertible note give you contractual protections. The crowdfunding platform will ensure that your investment is converted into shares as agreed.
